It’s Time to Simplify: Discover the Biblical Truth That Less is More.

Selah, a one-day seminar for women featuring speakers Vicki Norris and Sarah Thomas Baldwin, will return to the George Fox University campus for a seventh annual engagement on Saturday, Sept. 25.
The speakers will share on topics related to the conference’s theme, “It’s Time to Simplify: Discover the Biblical Truth That Less is More.” According to seminar organizers, the event will encourage attendees to live simply, prioritize your highest values, and spend your time and resources intentionally.
The seminar, which drew about 600 women last year, is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in Bauman Auditorium on the university’s Newberg campus. Seminar registration and information is available at selah.georgefox.edu, or by calling Amy Lorenz in the university relations office at 503-554-2134.
Norris is an entrepreneur, speaker, television personality, product designer and author who inspires people to reclaim their overwhelmed lives. She is founder and president of Restoring Order, an organizing services and products company she established in 1999. Norris, regularly featured on HGTV’s “Mission: Organization,” helps people restore order, not just to time paper and spaces, but with a whole-life approach that results in personal and business turnarounds. The title of her addresses are “Transforming Your Life from Overwhelm to Order” and “Organizing that Lasts: Trading Falsehoods for Freedom.”
Baldwin is the campus pastor and dean of spiritual life at George Fox. She is completing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and the Emerging Culture from George Fox Evangelical Seminary and also serves as chair of Word Made Flesh U.S.A. She will speak on “Simply Free,” discussing how “to move into the freedom God has for us,” according to the event website.
Other guests include worship leader Olivia Pothoff, worship leader at Northside Community Church in Newberg, Ore., and emcee Georgene Rice, host of “The Georgene Rice Show” on KPDQ FM and a frequent speaker and worship leader at Christian conferences and retreats.
The registration fee Sept. 1-25 is $42. Same-day registration is $47. A group registering 10 or more is $32 per person. The seminar is free to traditional George Fox University undergraduate students. All prices include lunch.
