18th Annual Yonkers Riverfest Set For Saturday, September 11

18th Annual Yonkers Riverfest, an outdoor extravaganza of free events for the entire family including music played by top New York metro area performance groups (rock n roll, jazz & blues and classical pops); arts and crafts displays; international food; classic cars; children’s petting zoo; face painting; mini golf; street jugglers and more!

It will be a day of non-stop excitement for people of all ages as the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District presents the 18th Annual Yonkers Riverfest on Saturday, September 11 starting at noon in the heart of downtown Yonkers and continuing until 7:30 PM—rain or shine.

The day-long event is free and offers something for people of all ages including international foods, arts and crafts vendors, amusements, educational games, exhibits, mini golf, classic cars, a variety of fantastic entertainers, special raffles and other surprises.

A commemorative ceremony for 9/11 (Patriot Day of Service and Remembrance) will be held with Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone and other officials at noon at the Yonkers Amphitheater.

Among this year’s new Riverfest offerings will be the Bond Street Theatre Stilt Band, a dynamic brass combo – who all perform on stilts; the Hudson Vagabonds, larger-than-life puppetry and masks for children and families. There will also be a performance by the Singing Harp Story Telling Theater of the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale, “The Golden Bowl, at the Riverfront Library and a free kayaking program on the waters of the Hudson River at the Beczak Environmental Educational Center.

There will be four stages that will present continuous musical entertainment by top New York metro area rock ‘n roll, jazz and blues and pops performance groups.
