Two works by the award winning lyricist, playwright and author, J.M. Eisenman, will be produced by the 3 Roses Players at the Luna Theatre in Glendale, California on Septermber 14, 21 and 28, 2010. The Assessment is a one-act play which involves attorney, Justin Shapiro, being called upon to assess former comedy writer, Thelma Drayer, to determine if she needs a conservatorship. Smart, funny and sassy Thelma may be fighting dementia but in this acidly funny battle of wits the real question is who is assessing who. The Assessment won awards at The Writer Speaks competition at Tre Stages in Hollywood and was recently voted a finalist at The Strawberry One-Act Festival at the Riant Theatre in New York. The actress playing Thelma Drayer won the Best Actress award for the festival for her tour de force performance. Presented along with The Assessment will be the brand new one-act pop musical, Serenity, A Pop...Star Musical. Serenity involves pop/rock star, Mark Simons' determined effort to win back his former girlfriend, pop star, Amy Taylor, 2 years after he walked out on her. Amy is just as determined not to let Mark back into her life. Can true love triumph over scars left from the past? With a combination of music, romance, humor and destiny, perhaps it can. Serenity features pop songs, Just Another Sunday, Sea of Change and, of course, Serenity. The music for Serenity was written by Thomas Adams and both plays are directed by Maggie Grant. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.3rosesp.com/TWS-WINNER-S-CIRCLE.html or at the box office. These two gems should not be missed.
