Collegehighlites is pleased to announce a licensing agreement to sell patent pending mini lights with three more universities after a successful first year with the University of Southern California (USC) in 2009. Added to the line up in 2010 are Louisiana State University (LSU) , University of Tennessee (UT), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and USC.
CNN and Business Week both named Collegehighlites "One of the TOP 10 Sports Marketing Ideas in 2009." The product was featured in length on CNN several weeks in a row.
The idea was the brain child of long time college football fanatic, Dave Bursin, President of Collegehighlites. "I grew tired of purchasing enough strands every year to find the proper colors to match my Alma mater. And the wiring I could never get to match at all," Bursin said. "My wife said why don't you just start making them for college fans everywhere. And that's how we started. Both bulbs and wiring are exact matches to the school of choice."
Lori Payton, Parent Teacher Council Member at USC, is very pleased with the agreement. "These lights focus the attention on what is good about college and college spirit," Payton said. "It's hard to believe these have never been done before, but I'm glad they finally are now."
While the current model focuses on a controlled growth with selected schools each year, Collegehighlites has simultaneously secured an agreement with the College Licensing Committee (CLC) which governs over 187 Universities and Colleges throughout the United States. That agreement was inked several weeks ago.
The mini lights can be found at Walgreen's, Campus Bookstores and shops and boutiques throughout Tennessee, Louisiana and Southern California. The product is also available at http://www.collegehighlites.com.
