The Children's publishing company Goops Unlimited is holding a competition for children's illustrators to submit their portfolios for a chance to be included in author Sameena Bachmeier's new book scheduled for release in early 2011. The competition will provide visibility and early success for up and coming illustrators.

Writer Sameena Bachmeier is launching a competition in search of 20 talented illustrators to take part in the publication of her new book, Tall Tales. The book is a treatment of recognizable fairy tales and mythology, and will be published by the children’s publishing company Goops Unlimited in early 2011.

Talented illustrators in the western United States are invited to submit their portfolios for a chance to win inclusion in the upcoming book. Bachmeier states, “I know what it means to wait for your next big break because I’ve been there. I want to give the same opportunity to young talent waiting for their chance to shine!”

Selected illustrators will not only have their illustration included in the nationally distributed book, but they will be invited to take part in the promotional tour celebrating the launch of Bachmeier’s Tales throughout the West Coast. Launch parties will take place in Seattle, Portland, Ashland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego.

Illustrators interested in submitting their artwork are invited to send three samples of their illustrations in digital format to Nicholas Beatty at Goops Unlimited, Nicholas(at)TheGoops(dot)com by October 20th, 2010. For a complete list of requirements, visit http://www.TheGoops.com.
