Payroll Network (http://www.payrollnetwork.com), the leading local provider of payroll processing and human resource services to companies in Washington, DC, Virginia and Maryland, is celebrating National Payroll Week September 6-10, 2010. National Payroll Week recognizes the hard work of America's 156 million wage earners and the payroll professionals who pay them.

"We are deeply grateful to the hundreds of payroll, human resource and other professionals in Maryland, the District and Virginia who we work with every day," said Charlie Wolf, president and CEO of Payroll Network. "They are the 'unsung' heroes of organizations, working tirelessly and often behind the scenes, to ensure their organizations run smoothly. We are proud to recognize them this week and all yearlong."

The National Payroll Week campaign, held annually the week of Labor Day, recognizes the contributions of America's workforce and the payroll professionals who pay accurately and on-time.

"Through the payroll withholding system, payroll professionals collect 71.9 percent, or $1.7 trillion, of the U.S. Treasury's annual revenue," said Dan Maddux, executive director of the American Payroll Association. "These contributions by America's workers help fund important programs like highways, Social Security, child support and more."

During National Payroll Week, the American Payroll Association and its 22,000 members encourage employees to take advantage of payroll-related benefits to stretch their paychecks.

"National Payroll Week is the perfect time to review and maximize your paycheck," said Maddux. "Free payroll-related benefits save employees up to 35 percent on everyday expenses like daycare, commuter parking and transportation, and medical expenses."

Payroll Network has many resources, including a "What If?" tax calculator, which individuals can use to see how withholding amounts will affect their paycheck. In addition, Payroll Network has a number of other educational resources on its website at http://www.payrollnetwork.com.

The company's knowledgeable staff takes pride in providing high quality service. Many of Payroll Network's staff are nationally designated by the American Payroll Association, teach industry courses and hold numerous other prestigious industry certifications. All four of the company founders are also Certified Public Accountants and are active members in local organizations.
