A few years ago, the idea of screening contractors was considered a novel concept. Today the tide is turning: over two-thirds of companies report that they perform background checks on temporary workers, according to a spring 2010 survey by EmployeeScreenIQ. However, employers need to apply the same screening processes to temporary workers as they do for permanent employees.
The eye-opening paper examines the dangers of hiring contract workers without performing the appropriate background checks. Specific topics include the following:
