We have reached 100 million dynamic profiles because we have been laser-focused on doing as much of the work as possible for our users.
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 9, 2010
Gist, an online service that helps people build stronger professional relationships, today announced that it has surpassed the mark of 100 million dynamic, social business profiles. Currently in public beta, the service automatically pulls together information about contacts and their companies to deliver actionable insights in less time with less effort. Gist also announced new enhancements to the application that will do more of the work to build out contact profiles without additional manual work required of a Gist user.
Along with the milestone of 100 million profiles, Gist is announcing new functionality that will dramatically increase the speed at which profiles are built in the system. New capabilities including public profiles, crowd-sourcing, and signature block extraction will do even more work on behalf of Gist users, making it easier than ever to manage your professional network and ensure you can act upon the most relevant, up-to-date information about your contacts.
Gist lets users log in to customize their public profiles, adding in and displaying just the items they want the world to see, with a focus on dynamic content. Nowhere else can someone see such a comprehensive, combined, and dynamic version of your blog, Twitter, Facebook and articles or blog posts that mention you. Gist Public Profiles puts the user back in control of their online persona and identity, and are optimized for SEO and discovery by search engines like Google.
- New Public Profiles will provide a dynamic social business profile for each user in the system. Users can log in to Gist and choose what information about them is publicly available.
- Signature Block Extraction pulls contact information from signature blocks in your email, so that users don’t have to manually enter the data themselves.
- Gist has built a service to enable users to contribute data and benefit from the 'crowd'. This functionality will drastically enhance the quality of every profile in a user’s account – providing the most relevant and comprehensive profile possible.
- Automatic and Suggested enhancement offers better integration with all data sources, adds new data sources and includes extensive notification and control to the user.
“In today’s professional environment, services like Gist compete on how much work they can do on behalf of users to save them time and make them more effective at their jobs,” said T.A. McCann, founder and CEO of Gist. “We have reached 100 million dynamic profiles because we have been laser-focused on doing as much of the work as possible for our users, and new functionality like signature block extraction will only accelerate our growth.”
The new features are currently being rolled out to all registered and new Gist users.
