What: Countdown to Health Care Reform Impact 2010: Astra HR hosts a free informational webinar featuring benefits expert Sandra Smalley, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist.

When: Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 1 p.m. EST

Why: September 23, 2010 marks the beginning of health care reform impact on businesses. This webinar will help participants understand the law’s impact in clear, concise and easy-to-understand terms.

Numerous changes to health plans become effective on the first plan year beginning on or after September 23, 2010, or January 1, 2011 for calendar year plans. Topics to be addressed during the webinar include:

  •     Defining parameters of grandfathered plans, exemptions and requirements
  •     Plan amendments based on eligibility status, lifetime limits, annual limits, pre-existing condition exclusions
  •     Plan amendments based on tax-advantaged medical accounts (e.g. FSAs, HAS, HRAs or Archer MSAs)
  •     Plan amendments regarding recissions, preventive services, claims appeals, discrimination and patient protections
