Portland, OR (PRWEB) September 14, 2010
Site9, Inc., developer of the industry's fastest growing collaborative prototyping tool for websites and web applications, ProtoShare, today announced a partnership with independent consultant Rick Anderson to launch DotShare. DotShare will use ProtoShare's real-time collaboration platform for the application and approval of environmental permits with federal, state, and municipal agencies.
Incorporating ProtoShare's platform into DotShare for the municipal project application process is a natural extension of the collaborative benefits in ProtoShare. Guided by DotShare, applicants upload project details and permit applications into the software then work together with corresponding government agencies to better understand the project, fill in missing information, and expedite the application process.
Rick Anderson, principal, will head DotShare. Anderson has over 20 years experience in natural resource consultation and legislation in Washington State. He sought to address inefficiencies in the application process for obtaining environmental permits when he stumbled upon ProtoShare.
"I was using ProtoShare to mock up an application to improve the permitting process through stakeholder collaboration and realized that everything I needed was already in Site9's software. Their purpose is to use web-based visuals to describe a project much more quickly than paper alone. Project descriptions based solely on paper almost always lead to miscommunication and fundamental misunderstandings, which quickly translate to added time and increased budgets," said Anderson.
DotShare allows rapid understanding of a project enabling people to work more efficiently and effectively. Development projects are usually too complex to be effectively communicated through static, paper-based forms. DotShare will bring the same value proposition to environmental permitting as ProtoShare does to web prototyping.
"We're excited to work with Rick and DotShare in extending the collaborative process to other industries and organizations," said Site9 VP Marketing Blake Johnson. "Having the ability to quickly and easily convey complex ideas, gather feedback, make adjustments, and more quickly move ahead with a final decision will bring an immediate benefit to users."
DotShare can facilitate many project application processes, including permit, mitigation, public comment, and compliance. Contact Rick Anderson of DotShare at rick.anderson3[at]comcast.net to learn more.
