Cleveland Design Founder to Speak on "The Power of Design" During 2010 AMA Non Profit Marketing Conference

Cleveland Design, an award-winning full service communications design firm, today announced Jonathan Cleveland, the firm’s founder and principal, will present on the topic of “The Power of Design” during the American Marketing Association’s 2010 Nonprofit Marketing Conference. The Conference will take place October 11-13, 2010 in Chicago.

The co-author of the acclaimed book, Designing for the Greater Good, Cleveland is recognized both for his creative talent and his passionate belief in the power of design to drive positive social change. For more than two decades, Cleveland has balanced his work for commercial clients—from global corporations to small startups—with a deep personal commitment to nonprofit and cause marketing. His work has made a difference for a wide range of organizations and causes, from promoting literacy and inspiring at-risk youth to driving support for AIDS research and education. A member of the Cause Marketing Forum, Cleveland’s work has been published in design books and recognized through national awards. Under Cleveland’s leadership, Cleveland Design was named one of the Top 20 Design Firms in New England by the Boston Business Journal.

Cleveland’s presentation will take place on Monday, October 11, from 8-11 a.m. and will focus on how the power of eye-catching design and memorable branding has become more essential to nonprofits in these hard-pressed economic times. An organization’s message must be clearer, stronger, and more compelling to market its mission and convince the public of its ability to produce effective results.

During this session, attendees will learn how great design can take a nonprofit’s marketing communications to the next level through:

  • Identifying and understanding the value of great design
  • Reviewing award winning design case studies from Designing for a Greater Good
  • Finding and creating a design dream team
  • Creating messages that speak to your audience and bring value to your nonprofit
  • How to implement your message and design across all media
  • The top 10 mistakes nonprofits make - and how to fix them
  • Budgeting for design and marketing
  • Case Study: East End House with Q&A
