Celebrity Interior Designer Kathleen McQuown-Greenberg of KMG Interiors and international photographer Julien McRoberts, who are both graduates of FIDM's Interior Design Program, reconnected to create and capture the beauty of Eat Pray Love co-writer Jennifer Salt's beautiful home located in Sherman Oaks, California.

Kathleen did the Interior Design for the home and then hired Julien to photograph her work for use on her website and in her portfolio. Kathleen and Julien first became friends at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, and have stayed in touch and visited with one another over the years, but this collaboration is the first time they have worked together.

Julien’s photography has been featured in New York magazine, Sunset, and Santa Fe Living magazine, among others, and she uses her interior design school background on a regular basis as she shoots interiors for a variety of clients. Julien is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, but travels all over for work.

"It was a rather funny way that Kathleen and I were able to work on this project," said Julien. "On a recent call Kathleen asked me how my photography business was going in Santa Fe and suddenly we both had a light bulb moment. It had never occurred to either of us to approach each other as a potential client. It felt like we were back in school again having a great time."

Prior to striking out on her own, Kathleen worked on projects such as Joel Silver’s restoration of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Storer House and I.M. Pei’s critically acclaimed building for Creative Artist Agency in Beverly Hills.
Kathleen explained, "Jennifer has her own distinctive style and amazing taste so when she moved into a new house in Sherman Oaks a few years ago, I was able to help her pull her look together in a bold manner by editing, adding and subtracting."

With four dynamic California campuses, FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is the premier west coast fashion design school, educating for careers in fashion, graphic design, interior design, and entertainment. FIDM’s graduates include renowned fashion designers like Monique Lhuillier, Emmy® and Academy Award® award-winning costume designers, top fashion industry executives, and entrepreneurs.
