Austria, Switzerland, Andorra and Bulgaria all have demand spikes for December breaks; little activity beyond thus far, very few deals yet advertised
Top spots for October half term:
A mix of sunshine and city breaks currently lead demand for the week of October half term (23-30 October):
1. New York City
2. Corralejo, Fuerteventura
3. Los Cristianos, Tenerife
4. Coral Bay, Paphos
5. Benalmadena, Costa del Sol
6. Whitby, Yorkshire
“Summer is barely over, the kids barely back in school, but the damp squib that was August in the UK could be responsible for the increase in early demand for October half term,” comments Kate Stinchcombe-Gillies, spokesperson for holidaylettings.co.uk.
“October is a great time of year for guaranteed sunshine in the Canaries, but also it remains t-shirt and bikini weather in places like Cyprus, Rome and Nice. City breaks are very popular at this time of year, but interesting to see so many enquiries for week long stays as these destinations are usually chosen for three or four night breaks,” adds Stinchcombe-Gillies.
