Princeton, NJ (PRWEB) September 15, 2010
Atlas Systems, a technology solutions and software developer with specialization in several vertical sectors, announced a set of new enhancements for its Provider Records Intelligence Management Ensemble (PRIME) software solution for healthcare insurers.
PRIME is a comprehensive software-as-a-service (SaaS) data management system targeted primarily at large health insurers. Health insurers maintain extensive databases and publish directories listing healthcare practitioners that are used by plan subscribers. This data contains detailed information and needs to be regularly updated. Most health insurers, however, do not have the resources and expertise to develop systems that make this task easier and they turn to PRIME to manage, store and keep critical data up to date, presentable and useful to plan participants.
“PRIME has taken the pain out of the directory production process,” says Jane McCord, Senior Director for EmblemHealth. What once took weeks of laborious editing and corrections now is done virtually automatically in a few hours. Although our data comes from many different sources it is now presented in a clear, concise and consistent manner.
“We now produce over 150 directories in more than 30 formats with data coming from countless sources without disruption to our normal responsibilities, quickly, cost-effectively and with significantly less staff hours spent in the process.”
Wide Range of Benefits
PRIME delivers several benefits:
-Accuracy: Data cleansing helps provide more precise and usable directories which exclude redundant, out of date, unusable and irrelevant data.
-Efficiency: PRIME virtually eliminates the tedious manual labor involved in directory compilation, saving companies many months of man-hours.
-Cost savings: PRIME can reduce the cost associated with directories by as much as 50%.
-Customer satisfaction: Plan members only receive directories with practitioners in their immediate area rather than every provider in the whole state.
-Compliance: PRIME enables health insurers to the meet the increasingly stringent regulatory and compliance requirements mandated by government bodies.
“PRIME is the industry’s most advanced and effective platform for healthcare data management, with a proven track record and a stable of logo clients,” said Venugopala Chalamala, Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Systems. “PRIME facilitates the delivery of a better product, reduces cost and drives operating efficiencies. At the end of the day we measure our success by the benefits we deliver to health insurers.”
The PRIME software solution is modular and its capabilities are bundled into four components. Each of these components can be deployed independently or used together as a single integrated system. The four components are DataCleanse, DataValidate, DataDirectory and DataOnline.
Guarantee Data Integrity
PRIME is built to cleanse data; it automatically removes duplicate information, standardizes formatting, cross-checks mailing address information with postal records and corrects it, tracks changes and archives with data recovery capabilities. PRIME then presents the data through searchable directories, detailed reports and an audit trail of adjustments through a real-time web interface. All are downloadable into an Excel format for further refinement, sorting and corrections.
An open API allows organizations to integrate PRIME with existing systems, though they also have the option of working with Atlas Systems for customization. After gaining secure access to PRIME, authorized client users can upload data, create traditional and geo-access directories, and produce meaningful and ad-hoc reports that are were never available to the organization before.
Enhancements Provide More Rigorous Data Validation
PRIME has implemented a set of new features and capabilities, which have been integrated with the DataValidate component. This includes a range of more rigorous data validation protocols. PRIME has developed a technology whereby healthcare provider data is continually updated and verified. The vetting process is automated and conducted on a staged annual (evergreen) basis, validating various granular and critical data about healthcare practitioners. These capabilities are also supported by call center personnel and a self service website tool.
“PRIME automates processes that are often done manually or completely neglected altogether and this lies at the core of its value proposition, “said Chalamala. “We are extremely pleased with the enhancements we have made, which only reinforces and strengthens our ability to deliver tangible operating value to health insurers.”
