Save 25% from independent, socially conscious designers and we will give another 25% to a non-profit that designer is passionate about. Each sale lasts only 48 hours. Members only, but anyone can join.

The sample sale industry has changed the way that we shop. While retail sales have been slow, sample sale sites have seen sales increase 275% in the second quarter. It is a billion dollar business, with millions of people being members of a sample sale site (Booth Moore, Who Says No One is Shopping, Entrepreneur September 2010).

Not only are sample sales changing the way we shop, but also consumers are becoming more and more conscious of the impacts of their purchases. 35% of the population is more likely to buy a product from a company that is mindful of their impact on the environment and society according to a survey done on "Green Living" by market research firm Mintel.

We saw an opportunity here to use the sample sale concept to help raise money for non-profits. We teamed up with independent socially conscious brands that you cannot find on any of the popular sample sale sites. Members will save 25% from these brands and we will give another 25% to a non-profit.

Save money, shop from independent socially conscious designers and help raise money for non-profits. Does it get any better?

When a brand is featured on Pure Citizen, they choose the non-profit that they would like to raise the money for. Often times this non-profit is one that they already work closely with. Every two days there will be a new brand and a new non-profit. The site is members only, yet open to anyone to join.

Pre-launch sign up is open now. The site is scheduled to go live October 18th!

Pure Citizen is a sister site of Pure Habitat (http://www.pure-habitat.com) - an online store where you can shop for your life from companies that are changing the world.

Amy Ludwigson started Pure Habitat as a way to make it easier to shop from all the amazing companies that are making the world a better place. Pure Citizen, was then a natural extension. It was born out of a desire to raise money for all the amazing non-profits that these conscious companies work with.

"I believe that each of us has the power to create great change in the world. We vote everyday with the purchases we make. I want to make it easier to support all these amazing conscious companies that are making the world a better place." - Amy Ludwigson

We all love a sale and know that nothing feels quiet as good as giving back.
