Leading DC-area family law practice adds veteran litigator Edouard J.P. Bouquet as Named Partner; Carlos Lastra elevated to Named Partner

Brodsky Renehan Pearlstein Lastra & Bouquet, Chartered, one of Greater Washington’s leading family law practices, today announced the renaming of its firm and the addition of a seasoned lawyer to the firm.

Celebrating 60 years of excellence in the practice of Divorce and Family Law, the firm’s renaming to Brodsky Renehan Pearlstein Lastra & Bouquet, Chartered reflects the recent addition of respected family law litigator Edouard J.P. Bouquet, and the elevation of Partner Carlos Lastra to Named Partner. In addition to the firm renaming, J. Mason Weeda, former law clerk to the Honorable Terrance McGann of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, has joined the firm as an Associate.

Edouard J.P. Bouquet brings 20 years of experience as a litigator specializing in complex and high conflict matters, primarily in family law and related areas in both trial and appellate courts. He frequently serves as a court appointed and private mediator for cases in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia and has appeared in actions in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. He began his legal career as Law Clerk to the Honorable James S. McAuliffe, Jr. of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. MD.

Carlos Lastra, elevated to Named Partner, is a proven trial lawyer whose experience has earned him such recognitions as being named a top "Divorce Attorney" in Washingtonian magazine. Mr. Lastra joined the firm in 2000 and was became a Partner in 2007, litigating divorce, alimony, custody, child support, paternity, and property distribution cases; contempt/enforcement actions, modification actions, and domestic violence cases. Mr. Lastra has served as Co-Chair of the Family Law Section for the Montgomery County Bar Association, and is a member of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association and the Hispanic Bar Association for the District of Columbia.
