MaxID, a leading provider of identity solutions announced the launch of its MAXGuard Program, a Future-Proof assurance program designed to provide comfort to those investing in their TWIC solutions.

MaxGuard is an assurance program for those organizations looking to purchase and deploy TWIC-compliant solutions today but have concerns about possible changes over the next year or so before final decisions are made with the program. MaxGuard allows customers to purchase MaxID solutions today – the combination of the MaxID iDL500 mulimodal TWIC reader and the MaxIDentity Suite of software -- and have a guarantee that the solution will comply with the final TWIC standards expected to be set by 2013. Customers must place their orders no later than December 15, 2010 to qualify, and the products must be covered by an annual maintenance agreement.

“Our position in the TWIC market is rather unique. First, we obviously work very closely with the US Coast Guard as a provider of technology, and given their enforcement role with the program, we have good visibility into technical and policy issues surrounding the program. Second, we are to my knowledge the only solution provider that is both a manufacturer of mobile TWIC readers, built in the United States, and a suite of Identity Software. This allows us to provide an assurance program with a high degree of confidence. " said Brian Skiba, President of MaxID Corp US.

The iDL500is a multi-modal, rugged mobile computer that offers a complete set of features including QWERTY keyboard, contact card, contactless card, barcode, optical fingerprint, and optional magnetic swipe and MRZ readers with a digital camera, GPS, and comprehensive communications capabilities. The iDL500 is a complete, integrated mobile solution for all badging and identity management requirements.

The MaxIDentity Suite contains a series of ready-to-use applications to read PIV, PIV-I, TWIC, CAC, FiXS and FRAC smart cards as well as passports, ePassports, Seafarer ID cards and driver’s licenses. The product can be purchased using the Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) model, so organizations can pay a low monthly fee for the application suite as an alternative to purchasing outright. The suite is available on the MaxID line of multimodal products including the iDL500, iDL502 and iDL520 today. A trial version of the product will be included with each multimodal computer shipped from MaxID beginning later this month. The trial version allows the user to try the application suite for 60 days before signing up for a subscription.
