Fletcher-Flora Health Care Systems, Inc. today announced a Reference Lab Sample Routing enhancement to its FFlex eSuite™, the latest addition to the company’s growing line of Web-based Laboratory Information System (LIS) solutions for the clinical laboratory. The Reference Lab Sample Routing enhancement provides “Business Rules” routing of samples to maximize a clinical laboratory’s reimbursement and profitability.
“Maximizing revenue and reimbursement is a top priority for today’s laboratories,” explained Neal Flora, CEO of Fletcher-Flora Health Care Systems, Inc. “The complexities involved in where a particular test must be run (in-house or reference lab) is a major challenge for laboratories. Some insurance companies require testing to be performed at designated reference labs under specific conditions. The Enhanced Container Routing Rules in the FFlex eSuite Rules engine now provide rules to route testing based a variety of criteria, including, insurance company, patient priority (Stat, Pre-Op, etc.) test type, billing type, and patient type. This new enhancement minimizes the labor involved in determining where tests must be performed and maximizes revenue by ensuring that all tests that can be, are conducted in-house and billed by the practice,” Flora added.
Fletcher-Flora’s FFlex eSuite was designed to provide a scalable and configurable laboratory information system (LIS). Using Internet technology, FFlex eSuite facilitates information sharing in a single location or between multiple locations, and provides a user-friendly, browser-based interface for deployments in any size clinical laboratory. The flexible FFlex eSuite LIS platform can be custom configured, using an array of optional modules, to provide day-to-day workflow and communication solutions that support expansion to meet the needs of any size clinical lab over time.
