Peridot Corporation, the Pleasanton, California based small components manufacturer, has announced the hiring of manufacturing engineer Fred Schumacher to assist in directing its process development, establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and managing Peridot’s device assembly division. Mr. Schumacher began work at Peridot in July, 2010.
According to Patrick E. Pickerell, President of Peridot Corporation, “Fred brings over 25 years of precision manufacturing and total quality management experience to Peridot. His expertise will help us optimize production and assembly processes, lower costs and assure quality products are delivered to customers on time.”
Prior to joining Peridot, Mr. Schumacher’s experience included Senior Mechanical Technician at Lawrence Livermore, Senior Team Leader at Spectra Physics, and Inventory Control Manager for the Americas at Apple and Tesla Motors. He holds degrees in Mathematics and Business, and an MBA specializing in Technology Management. A published author, Mr. Schumacher has written numerous papers on opto-mechanical systems, fiber optics and ISO processes.
