Fowler Wainwright International Institute of Professional Coaching (FWI) has made a new commitment to helping its students succeed. Included in their $997 tuition for their Certified Professional Coaching Course is a one year membership in the International Association of Coaching (IAC). “This $129 value represents our continuing desire to provide outstanding support to all of our graduates,” explains Barbara Wainwright, President of FWI. “Providing IAC memberships to our students is a natural progression in finding new ways to support our more than two thousand certified coaches.”

“The IAC offers an opportunity for our graduates to achieve additional credentials based on their ability to actually coach rather than simply accumulating hours,” says Wainwright. “We like the mastery learning approach to professional credentials. It fits perfectly with our training and philosophy.”

IAC Designations Are Not for Everyone

FWI graduates wishing to become IAC Practitioners or IAC Certified Coaches (IAC-CC) must devote themselves to learning and demonstrating the nine IAC Coaching Masteries™. To become an IAC Practitioner, candidates must file an acceptable personal learning agreement and pass an online written examination to demonstrate their understanding of the IAC Coaching Masteries™ and the IAC Ethical Principles. Those seeking to become IAC Certified Coaches must pass the online exam and then submit two recorded coaching sessions that demonstrate their proficiency in using the IAC Coaching Masteries™ with clients. Filing annual learning agreements are required to maintain both IAC designations.

Bob Tschannen-Moran, IAC-CC, 2010 President of the International Association of Coaching, attracted the interest of FWI with his March 2010 article regarding coach certification in choice: the magazine of professional coaching. “We invite all coaches and all coach training organizations to align themselves with the IAC,” notes Tschannen-Moran. “We offer a highly accountable, scalable, and adaptable approach to coach certification that promises to set the pace for the industry. Our designations are living credentials that invite coaches to continuously challenge themselves on the path to coaching mastery.”

Created by Sylvan’s Founder, Berry Fowler

FWI was founded in October of 2008 by educational entrepreneur and Master Coach, Berry Fowler, founder and former chairman of Sylvan Learning Centers, and Master Coach Barbara Wainwright, former worldwide president of another coach training and certification organization. Their initial goal was to recruit and train a team of superstar master coaches to provide professional training and certification to as many motivated individuals as possible. “This month marks a huge milestone for us,” explains Wainwright. “We are celebrating the graduation of over two thousand professional coaches from our live online courses.”

Affordable Tuition

Another goal Fowler and Wainwright have had since the beginning is to offer their Certified Coaching Course at the most affordable rates. “While other organizations charge $3000, $6000, $10,000 and more, FWI’s tuition is only $997 for our Certified Professional Coach course and that includes everything,” proclaims FWI’s chairman, Berry Fowler. “Our tuition includes, our coaching manual, class materials, professional coaching tools, a one year membership to the IAC, a digital and hard copy certificate, webpage design, development and hosting for one year on BestOfCoaching.com; and the no fee ongoing use of FWI’s Professional Coaching System.”

FWI’s Ongoing Support

FWI’s graduates also receive a free lifetime membership to FWI’s Coaches’ Café, an invitation only forum where over 2000 FWI grads can connect, continue learning and find ongoing support. Coaches Café offers webinars, mastermind groups, a monthly newsletter and other robust community activities all free to FWI grads. “Continuing support to our graduates is something both Barbara and I have been passionate about from the very beginning,” explains Fowler. “Our relationship with the IAC provides our students many new opportunities as they launch and grow their professional practices.”
