empoweringNews Provides Meeting and Event Planners with News and the Latest Special Offers from Destination Marketing Association International

The world’s first and only convention bureau alliance of destination marketing and sales organizations, BestCities, has appointed Ana María Viscasillas as Board Chairwoman of the Best Cities Global Alliance. President and CEO of the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, Viscasillas is the first executive from the partner destination of San Juan to lead BestCities, which comprises eight top convention destinations: Cape Town, Copenhagen, Dubai, Edinburgh, Melbourne, San Juan, Singapore and Vancouver. ***New Developments—Midwest: Hilton Omaha Undergoes $35 Million Expansion and Renovation***

The Hilton Omaha will undergo a $35 million expansion. Beginning in late 2010 and set for completion in early 2012, the project will add 150 new guest rooms, a 7,000-square-foot ballroom and 100 new parking spaces, the City of Omaha and Hilton Worldwide jointly announced in June.
