French Government Bestows Its First Five- Star Accreditation On The Island’s Premier Luxury Property Under A New Hotel Ratings System

Le Sereno is pleased to announce its recognition as St. Barth’s first recipient of a five-star classification from the Tourism Development Agency of France. This new system, enacted in mid-2009, is designed to hold French hotels to a stringent set of standards that are easily identifiable to travelers. To receive five stars, the French Accreditation Committee (COFRAC) reviewed Le Sereno on 240 checkpoints divided into three main sections: equipment, customer service and accessibility and sustainable practices. Le Sereno passed the quality review with high marks and is awaiting final accreditation from the prefecture.

A five-star accreditation speaks to the most demanding international clientele and reinforces Le Sereno’s commitment to outstanding service complimented by luxurious amenities and impeccable accommodations. Situated on the coveted Grand Cul-de-Sac beach, Le Sereno is one of the island’s most elegant and chic luxury hotels with 37 suites, and three new 7,000 square foot Villas designed by famed Parisian designer Christian Liaigre. Along with renowned lighting designer Arnold Chan and tropical master landscape architect Enrique Blanco, Liaigre created the islands only private Villas with full access to the amenities of a five-star hotel.

In line with the new rating, Le Sereno’s guests can expect amenities ranging from 24-hour room service and a beach club with attendants and freshwater swimming pool, to in-room spa treatments by La Ligne St Barth and a fitness center. Every comfort from arrival to departure is considered, including private airport transportation in St. Barth’s and a VIP reception at the St. Maarten airport to expedite customs, immigration and luggage handling. Le Sereno also features one of the island’s strongest culinary programs anchored by Le Restaurant des Pêcheurs. Facing the turquoise waters of Grand Cul-de-Sac, Le Sereno’s signature restaurant offers cuisine centered on fresh seafood delivered by local fisherman and served in an elegant yet, relaxed environment. In addition to dinner the restaurant also offers breakfast, lunch and a poolside menu.
