This is a great opportunity for us to help feature young, up-and-coming chefs in the greater Boston area.

This fall is bound to be an exciting season in the Boston food scene as young chefs gear up for the Next Great Boston Chef competition. Sponsored by Plummelo and Pro Kitchen Equipment, the contest is open to all greater-Boston area culinary students and chefs within the first two years of their careers. These chefs will be put to the test as they develop three-course meals for under $30, and showcase their ability to talk about food and meal preparation in short video clips. The grand prize includes $1,000 in cash and culinary prizes.
Said Laura Troyani, head of marketing for Plummelo, “This is a great opportunity for us to help feature young, up-and-coming chefs in the greater Boston area. And, since Plummelo is all about encouraging people to cook at home, hopefully we can all take away some helpful tips from these talented chefs.”
Marielle Murray, marketing director for Pro Kitchen Equipment was equally excited for her company to take part in the competition, “as an online leader in kitchen and restaurant supplies, it was only natural for us to sponsor a contest that will help emerging chefs gain exposure and win the tools they need to become even better chefs.”
Plummelo will be releasing the list of guest judges shortly, comprised of Boston-area media leaders and culinary stars. Interested chefs can enter the contest via Plummelo’s website through October 24, 2010.
