Tucker, GA (PRWEB) September 19, 2010
On Saturday, October 2, 2010, Give A Lift Foundation, Inc. plans to launch its 3rd Project Feed Atlanta.
Give A Lift Foundation (GALF) will be hosting its quarterly food packaging and distribution event from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Tucker Recreation Center at 4898 LaVista Rd, Tucker 30084. Volunteers will also include participants from 12Stone Church and members of Atlanta's Reform Jewish Community. Muslims, Christians and Jews were partnered together for this event by Trac5, a new peace and reconciliation organization that seeks to build bridges between the Abrahamic faiths.
In preparation for this event, GALF and Trac5 have been seeking sponsors from the community and raising funds to purchase healthy perishable and non-perishable food items for refugee families in the Clarkston area. Children and families are invited to fill care packages with food and then deliver them to families that suffer from food insecurity and hunger. The care packages will include fruit, vegetables, eggs, dairy, meat, rice, oil and bread. Care packages will be delivered as a group to families within a few mile radius of the Recreation Center.
GALF successfully executed its first Project Feed Atlanta in November 2009, and its second one in February 2010. In February, children helped package and deliver care packages to approximately 25 refugee families in the Clarkston area. This time, with new partnerships developed the goal is to aid 75 more families.
