Fall Festivals or Trunk or Treat Events Offer Alternatives to Halloween Parties

Share Article

Churches and organizations that plan Fall Festivals or "Trunk or Treat" events as an alternative to Halloween parties face a challenge to find promotional items that don't contain the traditional Halloween images of ghosts, witches and haunted houses.

We have many churches that have purchased from us four or five years in a row, because they just can’t find these items anywhere else.

Churches and non-profit groups often plan alternative events to Halloween that don't contain witches, ghosts or goblins.

Many churches will have a Fall Festival or other activity on or around Halloween. They often have games, entertainment and costumes, but they want to separate the activity from traditional images of Halloween.

However, in the last few years "Trunk or Treat" events have become popular for churches. The concept is simple. Cars or trucks are parked in parking lots with the trunks open and facing an aisle. Each trunk can feature a game, giveaway or something fun for the kids. Because children gather in one area it's safer and more convenient for parents.

Because it is such a small market, many promotional companies ignore Fall Festivals and "Trunk or Treat" and concentrate on Halloween, which is second following Christmas in terms of gross dollars spent on promotion.

A popular website, http://www.BagwellPromotions.com , is one of only a few companies that sell Fall Festival items.

According to John Bagwell, President of Bagwell Promotions, "The addition of the "Trunk or Treat" line to our Fall Festival products will allow us to expand our market share with churches and non-profit groups."

Bagwell Promotions offers several plastic bags without the demons, black cats and Haunted Houses. "They are a big hit with churches who are looking to promote their activity but don't want the Halloween theme," says Bagwell.

"We have many churches that have purchased from us four or five years in a row," claims Bagwell, "because they just can't find these items anywhere else."

But it's not just churches that have Fall Festivals. Non-profit organizations and many towns and cities are opting for Fall Festivals instead of celebrating Halloween. And the "Trunk or Treat" concept is expanding beyond churches.

The complete line of Fall Festival Bags is available online at http://www.bagwellpromotions.com/fall-festival-bags.html .

Bagwell Promotions also offers a number of other items that can be tailored to a Fall Festival. These include a Giant Pumpkin that is filled with toys that can be used as a sweepstakes promotion, and pumpkin stress relievers.
