This case study represents just one example of how ClearTrial software is helping biopharmaceutical and medical device companies worldwide.

ClearTrial (, the leading provider of Clinical Trial Operations (CTO) software, announced today that the company has been asked to present – together with a Top 20 biopharmaceutical sponsor – a case study entitled "Faster, More Accurate Clinical Trial Forecasting and Budgeting." The two companies will present the case study at the Informa Budgeting, Forecasting and Cost Management conference on 22-23 September in London.

During the presentation, Kristin Mauri, Director Clinical Services for ClearTrial, will present industry research revealing the forecasting and budgeting challenges pressing upon the industry. Among these challenges are the growing complexity of trial designs, the increasingly global nature of clinical trials, and a shrinking tolerance for budget variances.

Following Mauri, a senior representative from a Top 20 sponsor company will present the company's exhaustive and global search for a solution to the planning challenges it faced. During this presentation, he will:

  •     Review the pitfalls of the "old way" of doing things
  •     Define the business need and the criteria for a new solution
  •     Present key findings from global research and analysis of available solutions
  •     Examine the shortcomings of traditional solutions such as cost benchmarking and Excel spreadsheets
  •     Explore the positive impact of the "new way" of forecasting and budgeting on the company

"We're pleased to be able to present with a ClearTrial customer at this prestigious European event," noted Andy Grygiel, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for ClearTrial. "This case study represents just one example of how ClearTrial software is helping biopharmaceutical and medical device companies worldwide gain greater efficiency in clinical development by reducing planning cycle-times and reducing costs, while maintaining study feasibility."

In addition, Mauri and the sponsor representative have also been asked to anchor a panel discussion at the conference entitled "How to Negotiate a Partnership Which is Cost-effective and Successful." The panelists will discuss topics including key performance indicators to monitor in a long-term outsourcing relationship, trends in moving from full-service provision to functional service provision, and best practices when researching a preferred provider relationship.

The Informa Budgeting, Forecasting and Cost Management conference will be held at the Ambassadors Bloomsbury hotel on September 22-23, 2010 in London, United Kingdom. For more information and to register, visit
