EMSI Provides 5Star with SmartScript Services

EMSI is now providing 5Star Life Insurance Company with SmartScript Services. By integrating real-time MIB data into telephone interview scripts, both fraud and risk are greatly reduced leading to more confident life insurance underwriting decisions.

With over 35 years of call center expertise and the ability to check MIB data real-time, EMSI has created intelligent, reflexive scripts that allow customers to quickly determine applicant risk and make confident underwriting decisions.

Examination Management Services, Inc. (EMSI), a provider of leading-edge medical information, risk management and investigation services to the insurance, healthcare, legal and business communities, is providing SmartScript Services to 5Star Life Insurance Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 5Star Financial Services Company.

EMSI’s new SmartScript Services include real-time integration of data provided by the MIB Group, Inc. (MIB)* to 5Star Life Insurance Company into telephone interview scripts. EMSI’s application specialists collect information from insurance applicants using an interview script containing specific questions that are linked to critical codes from MIB. Using EMSI’s customizable, relational database, logic statements are validated against the applicant’s responses to determine if a conflict exists. If so, the system prompts the interviewer to reformulate the question and ask it again to clarify a condition or specific treatment. This new service provides customers like 5Star with greater intelligence, yielding more informed underwriting decisions earlier in the process.
