We are programmed to believe that the spring and summer of our lives are the most interesting and exciting parts of the time we spend on this earth
Burlington, MA (Vocus) September 22, 2010
Author Anne Drover dismisses age as but a number as she pursues a quest to find love, which she recounts in The Reluctant Cougar, her memoir released through Xlibris. In this fascinating book, Drover shares her account of going back to dating in the cyber-age at the age of seventy-three.
After her second divorce puts her out on the singles market again, the author dismisses her biological getting-on and grabs life by the reins to find that kind loving man with whom to share her life. The Reluctant Cougar looks back at the various fascinating experiences of being a single and searching senior citizen and the eventual awakening of the spirit that had slept within.
Readers will learn about the comical side of a senior woman who goes back to dating, to discover that a great lot has changed since. She reveals of the flood of emails a titillating screen name elicits in cyber-dating, and the excitement of trysting with the “cubs.” As she comes to accept and become the sizzling cougar that she is, Drover will take readers along the heart-stopping final stretch of her search. She offers a parting poem in her book for those who want to join her.
“We are programmed to believe that the spring and summer of our lives are the most interesting and exciting parts of the time we spend on this earth,” Drover comments. “(But) it is more about who we are as individuals; our willingness to accept our physical and emotional changes, and certainly to open our hearts and minds to changes in time, and life’s circumstances.”
