The company that publishes The Little Blue Book™, physicians most trusted resource for 22 years, announced today a corporate rebrand under the name HCPlexus. HCPlexus draws a clear association of serving multiple healthcare stakeholders – providers, payers, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies, all of whom share a common goal of achieving better patient outcomes. The “HC” standing for healthcare and “plexus” meaning connecting point or network, the company’s new tag line is “Well-Connected.”

Formerly known as mdHub, the newly named HCPlexus will continue to enhance the iconic print edition of “The Little Blue Book” physician referral database and deliver its content with real-time updates on mobile devices and in online applications. More than 300,000 U.S. physicians rely on The Little Blue Book data to run more efficient practices.

“For 22 years physicians have trusted The Little Blue Book based on the quality and reliability of the data, and recognize their own gain from having visibility within its pages,” said David L. The newly developed HCPlexus website provides a wealth of information for pharmaceutical marketers and others who want to reach physicians with their marketing messages. In addition to the new mobile and online versions of The Little Blue Book, HCPlexus is introducing several other products, including formulary information, patient education materials, an online search desktop application, an iPad lease program and several data products and services.

Shrier, who saw the potential to expand the company scope beyond its core mission of serving physicians, led a group that acquired The Little Blue Book in September 2009 from WebMD.
