A Complex Tale of Love and Tradition Awaits Readers in Sandra

Share Article

New book follows what happens when tradition threatens the bond of true love.

In a rural zone in Mexico, a young man could kidnap any young girl of his choice and make her his wife whether she was willing or not—a custom that gives birth to a forbidden love. Author Sara Hernandez weaves a bittersweet romance tinged with sadness, jealousy, and hatred in Sandra, a novel released through Xlibris.

Set in 1919, this story revolves around the most beautiful girl of the region, Sandra. Set apart from the other youngsters for her goddess-like beauty, Sandra’s presence sparks complements and gallantries; naturally inspiring love in young men’s hearts. However, she deliberately ignores all those who made an effort to call her attention—except for Mario. When their eyes first meet, something happens to Sandra’s heart. Both have initiated a strange relationship, and as signs and smiles grew day by day—they fell in love. The only problem is—Mario is already married to Elsa—as his parents and custom dictate. Will Sandra and Mario’s love flourish or will it be restricted by tradition?

Packed with romance and action, Sandra will definitely touch the most sensitive heart. This book will be featured at this year’s Frankfurt International Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany on October 6 to 10, 2010. For more information, log on to Xlibris.com.
