Two marketing experts are helping raise funds for impoverished children overseas by offering first-edition, autographed copies of their book to the first 50 people who donate $40 to ASchoolBellRings.org. 100% of the funds raised by the book sales will go to help school children in countries like Nicaragua, Tanzania and India.

“We were excited about the launch of our new book called How to Make Money with Social Media,” said Jamie Turner, the book’s coauthor and chief content officer for the 60 Second Marketer, an online magazine for the marketing community. “But we also wanted to kick things off by giving back to children in need. A School Bell Rings is a charity my coauthor and I founded several years ago, so this was a perfect opportunity to tie the two together.”

Turner and coauthor Reshma Shah, Ph.D., professor of marketing at Emory University, are also using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and the blogging community to build awareness for their fundraiser. People interested in buying a first-edition, autographed copy of the book can visit http://www.ASchoolBellRings.org/book. All of the funds raised from the sale of the books will go to help impoverished children overseas. A School Bell Rings is an official 501c3 nonprofit that builds schools and educational programs in countries such as Tanzania, India and Nicaragua.

“How to Make Money with Social Media, An Insider's Guide on Using New and Emerging Media to Grow Your Business” will be released by FT Press in October 2010, and provides readers with a complete road map for designing, launching and executing profitable social media campaigns.
