We see that Cardiology IT market activity has been picking up since 2008, and we are projecting that healthcare provider adoption of Cardiology IT will continue to increase over the next 18 to 24 months.

CapSite™ announces the release of the 2010 U.S. Cardiology IT Study, a strategic analysis of the U.S. market for CVIS and CPACS solutions. The study represents unique Voice of Customer (VOC) insight from more than 300 hospitals across multiple U.S. market segments.

“Given the healthcare industry focus on achieving Meaningful Use of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and the HITECH Act component of ARRA, we were looking to assess the impact this was having on the Cardiology IT market. Interestingly, we found less than 20% of recent Cardiology IT deals were part of a larger Enterprise Clinical / EHR decision.” says Michael Lee, Research Director at CapSite.

“Historically, hospitals have not adopted Cardiology IT solutions at the same levels seen in the Radiology market, where both the RIS and PACS markets are currently in replacement phases. We see that Cardiology IT market activity has been picking up since 2008, and we are projecting that healthcare provider adoption of Cardiology IT will continue to increase over the next 18 to 24 months.

“As we evaluated the Voice of Customer (VOC) attributes for Cardiology IT solutions, it was very clear that Ease of Use and Integration Capabilities are by far the two most important criteria healthcare provider organizations are looking for when evaluating Cardiology IT solutions today.” Lee continues.

Vendor Market Penetration / Share and Vendor Mind Share coverage includes:
Agfa Healthcare, Carestream Health, Fujifilm, GE Healthcare (GE), LUMEDX, McKesson (MCK), Merge (MRGE), Philips (PHG) and Siemens (SI).
