National Fingerprint, Inc. anchors its South Eastern distribution network with Edge Information Management, Inc., giving businesses and the HR community a unique solution that brings paper fingerprinting conveniently and securely in-house, with full electronic submission capabilities.

What makes the Self-Capture Packs unique is that they use multiple prints, as opposed to one set of prints normally taken with traditional fingerprint cards

National Fingerprint, Inc. (NFp),, the creator of the original Biometric Self-Capture Packs (TM) and Edge Information Management, Inc. (Edge),, a prominent provider of employment screening and drug testing services, are proud to announce their recent strategic alliance.

Working closely together, NFp and Edge have created an exciting fingerprint collection option that many HR professionals have yet to see; an all-in-one, self-capture, fingerprint pack. When utilizing NFp’s Self-Capture Packs (TM), everything is done in-house. The patent pending pack allows businesses, who are required to run fingerprint searches, to easily and efficiently fingerprint groups of individuals simultaneously instead of one-at-a-time. There is no need for appointment scheduling or to notify the prospective or existing employee that they need to drive to a different location to find an electronic LiveScan site.

What makes the Self-Capture Packs (TM) unique is that they use multiple prints, as opposed to one set of prints normally taken with traditional fingerprint cards, to help ensure accuracy and legibility of the print itself. The individual who is being printed is asked to make several prints of each finger. In the end, this method produces quicker turnaround times and a decreased rejection rate when compared to ordinary paper fingerprint cards. Another feature of the Self-Capture Packs (TM) is the Trusted Observer (TM) or "T-O" for short. The T-O is essentially in charge of overseeing the fingerprint process, and is normally someone in the organization who currently handles Human Resources tasks like hiring and/or screening potential employees. Before an employee can be considered a T-O, they must be approved by their employer, register online with NFp and take an online demonstration and training course in order to receive their “Trusted Observer Number”. Having a T-O in charge of the process helps ensure compliance, consistency and maintains quality control. It also minimizes the likelihood of fraud since the applicant never leaves the facility to have their fingerprints collected.

“Those multiple specimens are the key,” says Dave Allburn, National Fingerprint CEO. “With all those specimens to pick from, our lab can guarantee the electronic submission they comprise won’t be rejected, which happens frequently with traditional paper cards.” Allburn warns that sending people out for printing, especially in these times, enables imposters. “That’s where the worker bribes a friend to impersonate him with a convincing fake driver’s license,” said Allburn, “The scam can sometimes fool livescan centers and police because they will never see the applicant again. With Self-Capture Packs, prints are made on-site, in-sight, by the person who hopes to work there.”

About National Fingerprint, Inc.
National Fingerprint, Inc. was founded in 2007 by the research nonprofit, Safe Harbor Foundation to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse. NFp then became incorporated and independent, acquired investors and joined the NAPBS in 2008. NFp is introducing a better way to take authenticated applicant fingerprints for electronic submission to governments and authorities including the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation (BCI&I), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). NFp’s pending patents in Biometric Self-Capture (TM) involve inexpensive disposable kits that conveniently collect DNA, dental, or fingerprint specimens in-the-field for civilian ID purposes without any high tech equipment. Employers obtain the kits from knowledgeable distributors who customize them into Packs for their clients’ special needs. Fingerprint Packs are stocked as accountable office supplies for use wherever recruitment interviewing occurs. Specimens are authenticated and processed into electronic submissions by NFp’s secure lab.
