In the Los Angeles Metro area, we serve a large population of patients with complex health issues and are proud of this external recognition of the work we do to keep our patients healthy.
Torrance, CA (Vocus) September 23, 2010
HealthCare Partners Medical Group announced that it has been named a top-performing medical group in California for the seventh year in a row by the not-for-profit Integrated Healthcare Association (IHA). The IHA rates California physician groups in the key areas of clinical quality, patient experience, information technology-enabled systems, and coordinated diabetes care.
HealthCare Partners was one of only four medical groups honored with the Top Performer designation in the Los Angeles area. Other designees were Cedars-Sinai Medical Group, UCLA Medical Group, and eight Southern California Permanente Medical Group locations.
"HealthCare Partners operates with a strong belief in coordinated care, a model of care that demands that we constantly develop our technology and programs to positively impact clinical excellence and patient satisfaction," said Dr. Robert Margolis, CEO and managing partner of HealthCare Partners. "In the Los Angeles Metro area, we serve a large population of patients with complex health issues and are proud of this external recognition of the work we do to keep our patients healthy."
The award is part of the IHA's Pay for Performance program, the nation's largest physician incentive program, which rewards medical groups for their performance in areas related to quality. IHA (http://www.iha.org) is a statewide leadership group that promotes quality improvement, accountability, and affordability of healthcare in California. In earning the IHA award, HealthCare Partners was compared to 221 California physician groups representing approximately 35,000 physicians providing care for 10 million members.
In addition to the Top Performer designation, HealthCare Partners was recently honored to be named one of five healthcare organizations nationwide to participate in the Brookings-Dartmouth Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Pilot. An ACO is a provider organization willing to be accountable for the full continuum of care for its patients, and the goal of the pilot is to demonstrate with a defined group of patients that coordinated care will improve the quality of care these patients receive and simultaneously control costs.
