Jim, who joined Advanstar in June 2009, has more than fifteen years of eye care industry experience, covering both the B2B and consumer markets. Jim served as VP of Strategic Marketing for the Information Services Group of Jobson Medical Information as well as Publisher of 20/20 Magazine. In both capacities, Jim was responsible for the successful repositioning and strengthening of the core brands into industry leaders, including the development of custom marketing programs and online education initiatives for numerous companies in the professional eye care market.
Jim’s background and market understanding make him ideally suited to drive continued growth in Advanstar’s Eye Care Group properties, which lead the market in providing continuing support to eye care professionals, product manufacturers, service providers and other industry participants.
Associate Publisher Leo Avila, Sales Manager Erin Schlussel and the Eye Care Group content team headed by Editor-in-Chief Mark Dlugoss will now report directly to Vitkus. Lauri Jorgensen, former Publisher of the Eye Care Group, has left Advanstar.
