Created to bridge between the business community’s willingness to supply volunteer time and services and the school district’s needs for expertise, experience and resources; EZPartner, helps match these two communities under one Internet accessible interface.
Business and community leaders who currently partner with PSD, attended one of two introductory sessions to learn about the EZPartner service. Aside from demonstrations on how to create offers of assistance in the system, attendees heard from business leaders and PSD students on the benefits of real-world experiences that students gain from interacting with businesses and organizations.
“EZPartner creates a natural platform for businesses of all sizes to become more engaged with K-12 students, and for the school staff to choose what services would benefit students enrolled in 48 of the district’s schools,” said Mark Franke, President of Relatrix. “Relatrix is proud to offer this new module as another enhancement to our Online Contact Center. It lets us connect business and community leaders with the decision makers in our customer’s schools who have unmet needs and now have a place to share their request for assistance with community partners,” Franke added.
Business offers assist the students and teachers by extending the learning environment beyond the typical school day, classroom, and resources. “We are excited to bring EZPartner to our community and to provide a resource that streamlines communication between the businesses and organizations, PSD staff, and individual parent or community volunteers to support student learning,” said Kris Cord, PSD partnership and volunteer coordinator.
Using the EZPartner module, business partners can provide internships, mentors, job shadowing, guest speakers/programs, training and externships for teachers; host field trips or donate supplies and equipment. Staff members create or search for opportunities to bring real-world, post-secondary and workforce ready skills to the students. Volunteers register to share their time, talent, and expertise with students and staff. District staff sign-on to the EZPartner site and choose the offers matching their students’ or the school’s requirements. The business partner or volunteer and the staff member then collaborate on how to fulfill this partnership and record the outcome in EZPartner.
