With remote deployment of our nProbe technology available through Ravica, you can analyze traffic at any location.
Sanford, ME (PRWEB) September 28, 2010
Ravica, a leading provider of environmental monitoring sensors, has partnered with NTOP of Italy for U.S. distribution of NTOP’s nProbe™ support and nBox solutions for advanced network monitoring.
Ravica offers temperature and humidity monitoring devices, providing real-time reporting and alerting on the environmental conditions in data rooms, storage facilities, and other locations. These devices notify users of water leaks, humidity levels, temperature levels, power outages, and security access.
In response to business needs for additional types of business monitoring, specifically network traffic monitoring, Ravica has expanded their services and products. Cisco’s NetFlow, a technology that monitors and records traffic passing through supported routers and switches, has become the standard in network traffic monitoring by IT professionals.
To help users get more out of traditional NetFlow, specialized technology is available and offered by Ravica through NTOP’s nProbe™ software. The software is easy to install on a PC and allows users to quickly begin exporting NetFlow data which is directed to the specified collector. nProbe™ is a high-performance probe designed for running on environments with limited resources and can support both flow and packet sampling.
For utilization of this collected data, NTOP partnered with Plixer International, Inc., creators of Scrutinizer NetFlow & sFlow Analyzer. Scrutinizer is an alternative flow capture tool with extensive reporting capabilities. It retrieves traffic details from the nProbe, and then presents the data in a dynamic, intuitive, and detailed graphical views.
By expanding flow monitoring deeper into the actual packets, Scrutinizer 7.7 with nProbe™ can provide greater detail on database performance, latency, e-mail and URL activities. The nProbe™ collects the data and transfers it to Scrutinizer for reporting. The system also stores historical data for baseline trend analysis.
“With remote deployment of our nProbe technology available through Ravica, you can analyze traffic at any location and have it report back to Scrutinizer for more efficient, network-wide troubleshooting and analysis,” said Luca Deri, founder of NTOP and developer of the nProbe™ technology.
