(PRWeb UK) September 25, 2010
Lord Young of Graffham is to meet with an invited audience from the risk management, health and safety and insurance industries next month to discuss his report on health and safety culture in the UK.
The report is expected to have far-reaching consequences for insurers, lawyers and health and safety professionals, who will be given the opportunity to debate the report’s findings with Lord Young and other industry experts at the event.
Gerard Forlin QC and David Smith, managing director of Zurich Insurance, UK Broker Division will also speak at the event, followed by an open debate. Event organisers Cardinus Risk Management, in conjunction with International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM), believe this debate presents an opportunity for greater understanding and relationship building between stakeholders.
Jon Abbott, managing director – ergonomics and safety, of Cardinus Risk Management, said, “This is an exciting time for our industry. The prime minister has spoken about health and safety and the subject goes to the very heart of government. This event is about promoting thought leadership and represents a unique opportunity to engage with government, understand its aims and work together to ensure the UK continues to be one of the safest countries in the world to work in.”
Brian Nimick, chief executive, IIRSM said, “We look forward to meeting with members from the risk management, health and safety and insurance industries. Ultimately this will help stimulate debate following the Lord Young report and ensure that we, as a country, continue to advance standards in accident prevention and occupational health.”
The event is being hosted by Cardinus Risk Management, in association with the IIRSM. It takes place on Monday October 25 in the Great Hall of the Chartered Insurance Institute in London.
