Houston, TX (PRWEB) September 26, 2010
Stacey Gillman Wimbish, President of the Gillman Auto Group, was designated by Automotive News as one of the “100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry.” Wimbish was the first woman to serve the Houston Automobile Dealers Association as a Board of Directors member and was the first woman president of that organization. She is one of the few women in America to preside over a major chain of automobile dealerships.
After attending the University of Texas, Wimbish graduated from the highly respected NADA Dealer Candidate Academy and the General Motors Dealer Management Development program. She began her retail automobile career while still in high school and subsequently owned a Houston-area Lincoln-Mercury-Mitsubishi dealership. She then became Assistant Chief Operating Officer of the Gillman Companies.
Active in community affairs, Wimbish has supported annual fund-raising efforts for the Fort Bend Women’s Center, Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Emergency Assistance Patrol and has participated in numerous other charitable activities.
Married with two children, Wimbish resides in Houston. “Balancing the roles of mother, wife, and executive is sometimes challenging,” she said, “but the end result is gratifying. The great members of the Gillman team make it possible. It is an honor to be named one of the 100 Leading Women in our industry.”
The Gillman Automotive Group is a highly successful 70-year-old Houston based chain of family owned and operated automobile dealerships serving the Houston, San Antonio and Rio Grande Valley Markets. For more information visit http://www.gillmanauto.com.
