Evanston, IL (PRWEB) September 26, 2010
For the third time in as many years, the Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) has been awarded a 4-star rating by Charity Navigator, the nation's leading independent evaluator of charities in America. Less than 15% of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive at least three consecutive 4-star evaluations.
According to Charity Navigator's President and CEO, Ken Berger, this demonstrates"...that Kidney Cancer Association consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This 'exceptional' designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Kidney Cancer Association from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."
In addition to displaying the Charity Navigator 4-star seal on it website, http://www.KidneyCancer.org, KCA displays the HONCode seal that identifies it as a reliable source of health information. KCA is also fully compliant with the standards of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and it is recognized as an outstanding charity by Independent Charities of America.
"In this 20th anniversary year of our organization, we want to emphasize how important it is that charities voluntarily subscribe to a code of ethics that enables the public to trust them and donate with confidence," says KCA's CEO, Bill Bro. "Most charities that are governed responsibly will seek third-party accreditation and will conspicuously display this information on their websites. I, for one, would be skeptical of any charity that did not do so," he added.
With a staff of only four people, the KCA reaches a global membership of nearly 70,000 individuals in more than 100 countries. Its Facebook pages reach more than 20,000 people, speaking more than a dozen languages.
Government employees may contribute to the KCA through the Combined Federal Campaign and information concerning how to make donations online may be found on the KCA's website at http://www.KidneyCancer.org.
