“I want to share our good fortune by paying it forward and donating to a charity that helps other children lead happy, healthy lives,” said Touchy Tags president and founder Lauren Margulies.
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) September 28, 2010
Touchy Tags™, a new company making stylish tags for baby strollers which help stop the spread of germs, is pleased to announce its first annual online Children’s Charity Partnership Competition. The call for nominations opened today, and deserving charities can submit through the website at http://touchytags.com/. The Touchy Tags team will choose five finalists, and the public will vote on the winner, which will receive five percent of profits from the 2011 calendar year. All entrants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporations, and finalists will be required to provide proof. The deadline to submit is Friday, October 15.
“I am blessed to have happy, healthy toddlers today after a difficult beginning and weeks in the NICU,” said Touchy Tags president and founder Lauren Margulies. “I want to share our good fortune by paying it forward and donating to a charity that helps other children lead happy, healthy lives.”
Margulies was inspired to create Touchy Tags after bringing home her premature twins from the hospital in 2009, just as cold and flu season was in full swing and H1N1 was making headlines. Countless well-meaning strangers reached out for a tiny hand or foot, and Margulies struggled with how to ask these kind people to please not touch her babies, potentially exposing them to germs which would be very dangerous to their immature immune systems. Attached to a stroller or baby carrier, Touchy Tags are a stylish way to remind others to please respect their baby’s personal space.
Touchy Tags are made from soft, durable, cleanable, BPA- and phthalate-free PVC, fastened with color-coordinated ribbons featuring a sewn-on hook-and-loop closure. They are currently available in pink and blue, with a gender-neutral lime green coming out in November. Touchy Tags can also be customized with a company’s logo or colors.
