CED Solutions of Marietta, Georgia is offering free online Microsoft Office 2007 training to returning United States combat veterans.

"When I look at today's soldiers, I want to help. It's just been natural for our company to work so closely with veterans." said Rich Rodgers, 65, President and CEO of CED Solutions, and a Vietnam veteran.

As large numbers of veterans return from combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, job opportunities are as competitive as ever. Unemployment rates among veterans are higher than they are for the nation as a whole. One company is trying to do something about that.

CED Solutions (http://www.cedsolutions.com) of Marietta, Georgia is providing a free tuition 5-day live instructor-led online Microsoft Office 2007 course to returning veterans from a combat zone. This course will provide the training for the Microsoft Office Word and Excel applications used on the desktop operating system.

Students may take this live-instructor-led course either in the classroom in Atlanta, or online from any location and the comfort of their home or office.

CED Solutions, a veteran-owned company that is the largest provider of Microsoft certifications in North America, wants to help our veterans make the transition back to civilian life. "My father was killed in action in World War II just months before I was born, " said CED Solutions President and CEO Rich Rodgers, 65, of Dunwoody, Georgia. "Growing up I always wanted to be a Marine Corps officer like him, and I was lucky enough to secure an appointment from President Kennedy to attend the United States Naval Academy."

Rodgers spent nine years as an officer in the Marine Corps, including a tour of Vietnam in 1968-1969. "After coming back from Vietnam and having kids, I realized pretty quickly that the private sector would offer better opportunities. Making that transition took a lot of work, but it's paid off, and when I look at today's soldiers, I want to help. It's just been natural for our company to work so closely with veterans."
