"Our San Antonio Riverwalk hotel prides itself on going above and beyond for its customers, and being eco friendly is a major part of that service." Mike Sejman, Director of Engineering

We are so thrilled to receive this rating because it proves that we are succeeding in our efforts and initiatives.

Since opening its doors nearly three years ago, Grand Hyatt San Antonio has maintained a commitment to Green initiatives--and now it is being recognized for its efforts. The San Antonio Riverwalk hotel was recently awarded "4 Green Keys," from the Green Key Eco Rating Program.

"Hyatt has always been committed to doing its part for the environment," says Grand Hyatt Director of Engineering Mike Sejman. "We are so thrilled to receive this rating because it proves that we are succeeding in our efforts and initiatives."

Low-flow toilets and showerheads, an organic rooftop herb garden, high-energy efficiency appliances and a programmable energy management system are just a few of the many programs in place that earned the San Antonio luxury hotel the 4 Green Keys award. Other factors included the extensive environmental awareness employee training, and the effective communication of the energy saving programs to the guests via recycling and reuse programs.

"Our environmental practices are a way of life at Grand Hyatt," says Director of Sales and Marketing Scott Lane. "Studies show that travelers are concerned about the impact they have on the environment and they want to be socially responsible. This is just one more way that Hyatt goes above and beyond to provide the best in quality and service for our guests."

The Green Key Eco Rating System Program is a voluntary program that consists of a graduated rating system designed to recognize hotels, motels, and resorts that are committed to improving their fiscal and environmental performance. "4 Green Keys" are awarded to "a hotel that has shown national industry leadership and commitment to protecting the environment through wide ranging policies and practices. Mature programs that involve management, employees, guests, and the public have shown substantial and measurable results."
