L.A.’s largest volunteer action center to receive $3 for every new Goldstar referral to support ongoing volunteer projects

Goldstar, the Internet company that gets people out to see live entertainment more often, is teaming up with L.A. Works, the largest community and corporate volunteer action center in Southern California, to encourage volunteerism by raising funds for the nonprofit’s 90+ ongoing volunteer projects each month.

Beginning September 2010, Goldstar will donate $3 to L.A. Works for every new member that is referred through the designated campaign website https://www.goldstar.com/laworks, while new members will also receive a $5 instant credit toward their first purchase of tickets through Goldstar.

Goldstar (http://www.goldstar.com) connects 1,200,000+ members to events and activities across the United States by providing the world’s largest selection of half-price tickets, customized ideas and user reviews online. The site features a wide selection of tickets to popular concerts, theater shows, family attractions and professional sporting events as well as unique activities such as wine tastings, sushi making classes and rodeos.

Each month, L.A. Works offer individuals and corporate members in Southern California an array of volunteer opportunities in their communities. Each project is managed and led by trained L.A. Works volunteer project leaders at nonprofits throughout the community. L.A. Works recruits, places, and manages volunteers in support of the most pressing social issues in Los Angeles including at-risk youth, education and literacy, the environment, domestic violence, hunger and homelessness, HIV/AIDS, seniors and animal welfare.

In 2011 L.A. Works will celebrate 20 years of serving the needs of the community with more than 25,000 people volunteering through its programs annually; a community partner list of over 700 organizations; and 90+ on-going managed projects each month at no cost to volunteers or nonprofit partners.
