My kids were skeptical at first, but now actually login themselves to see their messages. I mostly use the alerts and translator functionality. Luckily we haven't had any serious issues, but I sleep better knowing it's there.

Many parents are baffled by the new language their teens and/or pre-teens are using to communicate with in secret – texting. Kids use acronyms – such as “?^” (hookup?), “9” (parent is watching) and “420” (marijuana) – to encode hundreds or thousands of messages a month, and parents have had no idea how to decipher them to prevent unhealthy behaviors.

Until now, with CiiAll.

CiiAll, developed by JimmyGood Technology, is helping parents overcome these challenges by enabling them to view, sort, search, and share text messages via an online portal by simply downloading the application to their mobile device.

With CiiAll, families can:

> Translate text message acronyms into everyday language
> Easily identify proactively address sexting, bullying and other negative behaviors
> Set custom alerts for terms that indicate such problems
> Search every text message
> Improve accountability, insight and trust with children and spouse

"I've been using CiiAll for my two teenage children (and myself) and it has been a great service,” said Melissa Newsome, from Santa Monica, Calif. “I've been pleasantly surprised at how fast the text messages make it to my portal (almost immediately). My kids were skeptical at first, but now actually login themselves to see their messages. I mostly use the alerts and translator functionality. Luckily we haven't had any serious issues, but I sleep better knowing it's there. Thanks CiiAll."

According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 66 percent of children aged 8 to 18, 69 percent of 11 to 14 year-olds and 85 percent of 15 to 18 year-olds have a cell phone.

More than half of teens send 50 or more text messages a day, (1,500 a month), a third send more than 100 texts a day, (3,000 or more a month), and 15% of these teen cell phone users send more than 200 texts a day (6,000 + per month).

Regardless of how many texts a family sends and receives, CiiAll provides an unmatched level of visibility, translating text acronyms into everyday language and enabling parents to set custom alerts for certain words and phrases. If one of these appears in a sent or received text, an e-mail alert prompts the user to work proactively to address unsuitable lifestyle choices, such as sexting or bullying.

“CiiAll has been a great service for insight into my 3 teenage kids’ texting,” says Sarah Hartsack from Omaha, Nebraska. “We quickly realized that reviewing all of their text messages wasn’t realistic. However, we’ve been able to setup alerts and just generally feel better knowing we can view them if we need to. Additionally, it’s brought the conversation to dinner table and we feel closer.”

For just $9.99 a month, anyone can activate five cell phones and archive up to 30 days’ texting history. The premium plan covers up to 10 mobile devices and one year’s text history for only $19.99 a month.
