By implementing solutions designed by Cisco, BMC Software and VMware, Force 3 will provide high levels of availability, scalability, ease of use and return on investment for DMA’s consolidated data center.

Force 3, delivering the best in federal security, unified communications and data center solutions, today announced that its Data Center team has been awarded a six-month, $6 million contract by the Department of Defense’s Defense Media Activity (DMA) to provide comprehensive server, network, virtualization and management infrastructure to meet BRAC initiatives.

By implementing solutions designed by Cisco, BMC Software and VMware, Force 3 will provide high levels of availability, scalability, ease of use and return on investment for DMA’s consolidated data center. Under the contract, Force 3 will also provide implementation and post-implementation support.

Specifically, Force 3 will implement virtualization solutions from VMware to be utilized in the Department of Defense’s (DoD) initiatives to move toward a cloud environment as well as in Disaster Recovery efforts. Cisco’s Unified Computing System (UCS) will be implemented to help accomplish a blade center computing environment that leverages virtualization to reduce the effort of managing multiple disparate systems, streamline the process of adopting new systems, and to ultimately provide a unified fabric that will support DMA’s datacenter now and in the future.

“We are excited and honored to help DMA accomplish their virtualization efforts,” said Rocky Cintron, CEO of Force 3. “Our data center team is constantly creating and looking for solutions that can help the DoD effectively and efficiently move towards the cloud.”

DMA is the DoD’s direct line of communication for news and information to U.S. forces worldwide. The agency presents news, information and entertainment on a variety of media platforms, including radio, television, Internet, print media and emerging media technologies. DMA informs millions of active, Guard and Reserve service members, civilian employees, contractors, military retirees and their families in the U.S. and abroad.
