This case involved very serious legal issues and we were confident that the jurors would acquit our client once we were able to lay out our defense in full detail.
Los Angeles (PRWEB) September 29, 2010
Attorneys from the Goldstein Law Offices, a highly regarded Los Angeles criminal defense law firm, secured not guilty verdicts for their client, Luis Martinez, on all six counts of an attempted homicide case stemming from a 2008 shooting incident in Los Angeles County.
The case, The People of the State of California v. Luis Ramon Martinez (BA361992), was tried in the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles. It was a two-week trial presided over by Judge Jose Sandoval in Dept. 125 of the Criminal Courts Building in downtown Los Angeles. The lead defense attorney for Mr. Martinez was James A. Goldstein of the Goldstein Law Offices.
After one day of deliberations, the jury returned not guilty verdicts for the defendant on all charges, which included premeditated attempted murder with gang allegations, great bodily injury and a weapons charge. The felony charges included special allegations that carried potential life sentences for the defendant if convicted.
The case, which stemmed from the June 2008 shooting of an occupant of a vehicle near downtown Los Angeles, involved a total of three defendants. The other two defendants were convicted in a separate trial while represented by other criminal defense attorneys.
"We're very pleased with the jury's verdicts in this case and are delighted that Mr. Martinez can return to a normal life, without the fear of spending the rest of his life in prison," said Michael A. Goldstein of the Goldstein Law Offices. "This case involved very serious legal issues and we were confident that the jurors would acquit our client once we were able to lay out our defense in full detail."
