Dozens of books go home with choir in town for World Equestrian Games.

Children’s book author Celia Banks donates books from her “God’s Word is Just for Me” series to the group of Haitian children who are visiting Kentucky this month. The children performed at the World Equestrian Games opening ceremony and will each go home with a signed copy of Jacob's Promise and a colorful character bookmark. Also, as part of the activities for the children, the books were read in their native dialect.

"It’s exciting to know that 28 books will go home with these children to be shared with their friends and family in another part of the world,” author Celia Banks said.

The children, ages 6-12, are a part of an effort by Alltech’s founder and president Pearse Lyons and Everett McCorvey, director of the University of Kentucky’s opera theatre program, to create a choir similar to the African Children’s Choir to draw attention to Haiti’s needs and potential. The group is also designed to give Haitian children enhanced educational opportunities.

About the Book:

Jacob’s Promise
Follow Jacob as he shepherds the coolest, most colorful group of sheep and goats and learns that God’s promises of blessings are for him. Jacob learns that no matter what happens in the natural, God blesses those who are faithful and who trust Him.
