iRa C3 let us focus our attention to the potential threat in real time no matter where we are and make informed decisions. That is extremely important for us.
Boston (PRWEB) September 30, 2010
Earlier this year, public safety officers at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center averted a large-scale evacuation by using Lextech Labs’ iRa C3 mobile video surveillance app, which was credited with helping officials quickly examine and identify a suspicious briefcase left in a drop-off area during a VIP speaking engagement.
Resolving this issue using iRa C3 allowed commanders to quickly assess the object and assure responding security officers that it was left behind by a member of the VIP’s advance team. With the safety and security of their guests being paramount, officials with the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority used the app to assess the package within seconds of the first call, preventing the next level of response and in the end saving time, redeployment of staff, focus, and disruption of the event.
“It’s another vital technology tool in our tool bag, but one that is proving more and more valuable," said Massachusetts Convention Center Authority’s Public Safety Manager for Technology, Rob Noonan. “Patrolling some of New England’s largest buildings, which are often filled with tens of thousands of guests, iRa C3 let us focus our attention to the potential threat in real time no matter where we are and make informed decisions. That is extremely important for us.”
iRa C3 was recommended and installed by BCM Controls and is part of a larger technology initiative to embrace mobility. The MCCA also has two iPhone apps, myBCEC and myHynes. Both apps act as personal concierge services to facility attendees, helping them navigate the facilities, restaurants, hotels, retailers and get real time travel information.
