Virtual Computer Names Simon Graham as Chief Scientist

Virtual Computer, the leader in distributed VDI, today announced Simon Graham as chief scientist. Graham will provide technical leadership across all major components of Virtual Computer’s NxTop suite of desktop virtualization solutions. Prior to Virtual Computer, Graham was chief architect for Stratus Technologies’ award-winning Stratus Avance product for which he played a pivotal role in architecture, design and development.

“With 30 years experience delivering complex systems and software and direct experience building Xen based high-availability systems at Stratus, Simon is uniquely qualified to become our technical lead,” said Dan McCall, president and CEO of Virtual Computer. “By combining Simon’s expertise with an engineering team that boasts an average experience of over 20 years, Virtual Computer is well positioned for our next phase of innovation and growth.”

Graham will be a featured guest on the Virtualization Security Roundtable, which will examine client hypervisors (Oct 7, 2010 at 2:30pm EDT).

About Simon Graham – Chief Scientist
A 30-year veteran of the software industry, Simon Graham is expert in complex systems software. Prior to joining Virtual Computer, he was chief architect for Stratus Technologies’ Avance product line, a fault-tolerant software system based on the Xen hypervisor. Earlier in his career, Graham was a consulting software engineer for Mangosoft where he helped design and implement a Distributed Shared Memory (DSM) engine for Windows. Much of Graham’s career has focused on networking protocol implementations for X.25, IBM SNA and the OSI networking stack. Graham has Masters and Bachelors degrees in Metallurgy and Material Science from Cambridge University (UK), holds three US patents, and is joint or sole inventor on five pending patent applications.
